Time Traveling to NY, The Wombat Mongoose

Posted on July 29, 2010

My opened up immediately with me, my wife, and former co-workers Maria and Ianare appearing out of thin air in a New York harbor. I guess we had activated the time machine, and wanted to go on vacation, so we decided to go to New York…”20 years into the past”. Of course, 20 years into the past is only 1990, which was actually a crap year for NY, but we all thought it was a big deal to visit.

The most memorable part of this occurred when we got off the “Command Bus” into the city in front of a museum. It’s amazing how the murals were so yellow and red and LOUD, like some liberal urban youth experiment from the early 1980′s. We got off the bus, and it turns out more people came in on the time machine, such as my mother, friends Tony and Danny, and others.

Anyway, everyone was awestruck when we went into the large museum. Everyone kinda split up. That’s when I saw the glass tank containing two furry animals. They had the bodies of wombats, but the faces of . A young African American boy was in front of the tank, waving at them. These animals were so happy- they were smiling and seemed vastly intelligent, like sea otters, but with a hidden human intelligence.

My heart went out to these mammals…and after the boy left, I had them all to my own. They followed my hands, and almost laughed. The glass barrier prevented me from touching them, but they didn’t mind. The wombat wanted me to keep them company, and no one else was paying attention to them, but part of this vacation trip was to explore the museum, and I just couldn’t stay with them. Then I began to cry uncontrollably. I fell to one knee. The black boy came back, and others gathered. He asked me what was wrong. I pointed to the watch on my wrist because I couldn’t speak.

He didn’t get it. My friend Danny got it. He explained to everyone that these wombat are not alive in the year 2010.

Other parts of this ?

  • Jerry Sienfeld and Michael Kay were walking in the mall and were loving the sound of their voices.
  • My mom wanted to buy expensive comic book trade paperbacks, and I told her I have them scanned on my computer, and it was a waste of money. She wanted to be happy though, but we already had a mini-debate, so when I caved in and picked her up Supreme, she refused it.
  • So I went back into the past 20 years, and guess what I found? Commercials of the future (huh?) are even vulgar than the ones from today. It is socially acceptable for to see woman’s breasts with no covering in the future.

Looking for Old Classmate

Posted on May 16, 2010
school classmates

Remember these?

I had a dream I was looking for Douglas Katz from Brooklyn, New York. Douglas Katz was a well-known classmate of mine in the 1980′s, and he was exceptionally smart, although he had some behavioral problems- possible due to having a step-dad and/or being too advanced at his grade level, i.e. bored. Well, last year I used Facebook for a while and was unable to find Douglas Katz, although based on my experiences with Facebook, it would have been a waste of time anyway, since no old classmate told me anything about their life.

That didn’t stop for me from searching out the old classmate in my dream recently. I was back in Brooklyn, New York looking for Douglas Katz to ask him why he’s “off the grid”- how could someone of his intelligence not be online, or having a website or business to promote- what is he doing? Well I finally met Douglas, but he was the same age- a kid- and he seemed to have stumped his growth and development. He was being held back by the environment and his parents. We chatted for a while, but he barely remembered me.

Yes, file this one for bad-dreams.com.
